Checking Out Books and Other Materials
Our computer identifies you by the bar code on your library card, if you don’t have it we can look you up by name or number. However, it is more helpful if you have it and it is up to date.
- The check-out time for most items is 2 weeks.
- Videos have a 1 week check-out time.
- Items are due back before 6 pm on the due date.
Want a book or other item that’s not here? Ask us about our Inter Library Loan service.
Patrons are limited to 4 items per person on a family card. Videos and magazines are included. Children, unless they have parental permission, cannot check out anything with an R rating. This is also true of the adult section of fiction; children must have parental permission to check out books in this section.
Returning Items On Time
Overdue books are not fined. However, because they are high demand items, videos will have a $1.00 a day fine up to the cost of the video. Persons with overdue items, fines and or damages will not be permitted to check out library materials until the amount owed is paid. We do accept phone renewals unless item is more than a week overdue, than the fines will have to be paid first.
Damaged or Lost Materials
Damages to library materials will be assessed in the following manner: if completely destroyed or unusable, replacement costs will be charged. If materials are slightly damaged, one-fourth the replacement cost, or a minimum of $2.50 will be charged.
If a book is designated lost, replacement costs will be charged.

A library card is not necessary for computer usage. However, you must check in at the circulation desk for a time card. If you have fines or overdues, you will not be granted access until problems are resolved.
